The American company IC Bus from the city of Conway was founded by designer David Ward in 1933 and was originally named after its founder - Ward.
Since then, many school bus models have been produced and have taken over the entire transportation market in the United States of America.
The first models of the Ward company were made of wood, and under the hood was a motorcycle 1 liter engine with a capacity of 14 horsepower.
However, already in 1935, a model with a metal body was introduced, which became the ancestor of all modern buses.
Working with the US Army, which bought school buses because of their long base and upgraded them to transport recruits to training sites before being sent to Europe, Ward was able to make a solid profit, which it fully invested in building new civilian models in 1945.
Just 5 years later, 95% of the school and passenger bus market in America belonged to David Ward's company, and the colossal profit made it possible to modernize production with the latest technology.
However, by 1979, the company was unable to modernize its current lineup due to the fact that all forces and resources were thrown into the creation of new models, which were criticized by the country's government, and the Ward brand was forced to start bankruptcy proceedings.
In 1983, all of the company's assets were bought out by new investors, who resumed production at the Ward factories, releasing several new buses on the basis of old models.
In 2000, American Transportation introduced a new bus model called the IC .
The first copies of this model hit the market under the AmTran brand, and then the brand name was changed to International, as the company changed its name to International Truck and Bus.
It existed under this name throughout 2001. The following year, the name of the company changed again - now to IC Corporation, which made it possible to rename the line of new buses back to IC CE.
In 2005, ICs are updated and present a new, redesigned coupe for drivers, also increasing the size of the dashboard.
To enter new markets, IC introduced two new product lines in 2006, the so-called BE-Series.
